Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) is an expert gambler who rarely loses a game, if ever. His skills attract the attention of the underworld don, Saxena (Utpal Dutt) who hires him to win him large rounds of money. Jai agrees to do so, not knowing that his skills are also being used to entrap an influential government official named Nath (Jagdish Raj). After losing large amounts of money to Jai, Saxena decides to blackmail Nath into giving him the blueprints of a secret military weapon that can hit any target within 50 miles. When the Indian police come to know of this, they assign the case to Inspector Vijay (also Amitabh Bachchan), Jai's lookalike. Vijay infiltrates the gang to gather evidence to expose them. But the only problem is that Vijay has no gambling skills. Will he be able to fake his way through? Will their mission be successful?
