An ace Kathak dancer, Barkha (Ayesha Jhulka) saves the life of a feared underworld don, Vishal (Vinod Khanna) and suffers minor injuries in the bomb blast that was supposed to kill him. Vishal brings her into his lavish house and makes sure that she's well taken care of. In the same house, she meets Vishal's arrogant brother, Sagar (Govinda) who gets annoyed by her early morning dance practices and ferocious attitude. But their initial bickering soon turns to deep affection for each other. Problem arises when Vishal falls in love with Barkha. He confides in Sagar about proposing to her. Sagar steps aside to avoid hurting Vishal, but when Barkha realises this, she gets agitated and blatantly speaks the truth about her love affair with Sagar. Vishal, now devastated and enraged, takes to drinking heavily. Meanwhile, Sagar and Barkha leave the house to live on their own. But one day, Barkha is kidnapped and Sagar blames Vishal for ruining their happiness. Has Vishal really stooped down to that level?
