An old couple living in a village awaits the arrival of their son Babu from Mumbai on the day of Holi. A village belle Manda, the Sarpanch's daughter, is in love with Babu and they plan on marrying each other. When Babu returns to the village, he is upset to learn that his innocent parents have sold their ancestral land to buy modern amenities, and they're not the only ones who have done that. When Babu learns that it is the Sarpanch who is intoxicating villagers and prodding them to sell their land to two businessmen Shetty and Gupta, he goes against him, putting his relationship with Manda in danger.
