A dirt poor villager Gangaram owns a donkey named Murli. When Murli badly twists its leg, Gangaram's wife asks him to borrow money from their fellow villagers to save its life. But Gangaram is disheartened for nobody comes forward to help him. His life changes drastically, however, when a young woman arrives at the village to survey its travelling and transporting sources and spots the wounded donkey. Being a passionate animal lover, she gets involved in the case and it soon attracts media and political attention.
