Pinki is a five-year-old girl with a cleft lip, born into a desperately poor family from a village in the Mirzapur District in India. Pinki's parents did not know that her condition could be fixed with one simple operation until they met Pankaj, a social worker travelling through rural India, gathering patients to go to a hospital in Varanasi that provides free surgery to thousands every year. This real-life fairy tale follows Pinki's journey from a life of isolation and ostracism to a smile of joy.
