After her parents pass away, young Gauri starts living with her greedy and exploitative uncle and aunt. She is ill-treated and forced to work as a servant in another household. Gauri is often hounded by the lecherous cook Bankelal working in the same household. When Gauri rebuffs him once and for all, he traps her under the false charge of theft, which turns her into a rebel seeking revenge.
