B. V. Pradhan is a retired school headmaster who lives in Bombay with his wife as their son works in New York. Soon, they get the news of their son’s death and with that, they become less hopeful in life as their son was the only bread earner of the family. To make ends meet for both of them, they lend one of their rooms on hire to a young struggling actress Sujata, who is in love with a local politician’s son.
