Brimming with power, greed, betrayal and love, Rajkumar is a tale of two warring kingdoms of Thambore and Araavali. In an attempt to end their long-standing enmity, the rulers of both the kingdoms decide to marry their children, the princess of Thambore and the prince of Araavali. But Thambore's minister, Durjan Singh (Naseeruddin Shah) is unhappy with the decision. He ruins any chances of friendship between them by killing the king of Thambore and blaming it on the ruler of Araavali, who is then hanged for the crime. The kingdoms revert to being arch rivals. Meanwhile, Durjan Singh secretly imprisons and tortures the prince of Araavali, who manages to escape and seek revenge for his father's execution. But problems begin to brew when he falls in love with the princess of Thambore. Will the prince succeed in claiming his kingdom and the princess's heart?
