Painter Babu is a 1983 drama, starring Rajiv Goswami and Meenakshi Sheshadri. Young painter Shyam thwarts his industrialist father Srivastav’s request to marry the daughter of a rich man. He elopes with his love, Renu but is caught in the midst of a conspiracy. A girl, Meera is found to be dead and Shyam is blamed. But it turns out Meera is alive. When Shyam is free and goes back to Renu, she has married someone else. Thus begins a path of self-destruction for our painter.
