A lonely eight-year-old boy, Aashu, saves a drowning mouse and brings it home. Since his parents are always busy, he shows the little mouse to his maid, Gangu Tai, who informs him that he has saved Lord Ganesha's ride and narrates the story of Lord Ganesha and his mouse friend, Mushak Raj. Aashu too craves the company of a friend and Gangu Tai assures him that Lord Ganesha is his friend. She convinces the family to bring home an idol during Ganesh Chaturthi and Aashu befriends the jolly elephant-headed god. Together, they take on an adventurous journey and solve many problems while having fun.
