Kaalia (Amitabh Bachchan)—a name that spells terror in the minds of people and the police—was not always a vindictive criminal. Years ago, he was a mere simpleton living in a chawl with his elder brother, sister-in-law, and their little daughter. An enemy in the guise of Shahani Seth (Amjad Khan) destroys his perfect world, sending him to prison and giving rise to the dreaded Kaalia.
