Inspired from a true story, Acid is a terrifying journey of a Muslim girl Ruhana whose life takes a tragic turn when she loses her father in an accident. The accident leaves her mother and her alone in an impoverished state. With the arrival of their uncle who seems like a silver lining at the beginning, their lives become a prison when he becomes increasingly dangerous and abusive. Ruhana eventually learns to depend only on herself and finds the courage to stand up against a male-dominated society determined to make a lonely woman's life miserable.
